By default this site sets no tracking cookies at all. What it does use is your browser’s local storage, for features that only work if the site remembers something between visits.
Local storage is not a cookie. A cookie is sent to the server with every request; local storage stays in your browser and is never transmitted. Because this site has no application server, anything it remembers has to use local storage — which happens to be the more private mechanism of the two.
Everything below can be removed by clearing site data for this domain. The site remains fully usable afterwards; you simply lose saved festivals, checklist ticks and reminder preferences.
Tracking and advertising cookies: none. The site is built with no advertising provider and no analytics provider configured, so there is nothing to set a cookie. This is the configuration the code ships in.
What is used instead, all in your own browser:
| Key | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| th.interactions.v1 | localStorage | Anonymous counts of which pages and trending items you opened, used only to reorder the trending list on your own device. | Until you clear site data |
| th.favourites.v1 | localStorage | The festival slugs you saved with the save button, so they are still saved next visit. | Until you clear site data |
| th.recent.v1 | localStorage | A short list of the festivals you most recently viewed, shown as a return shortcut. | Until you clear site data |
| th.reminders.v1 | localStorage | The reminder preferences you set, used to show a nudge on this device. No notification is sent to us. | Until you clear site data |
| th.checklist.* | localStorage | The tick state of a shopping or puja checklist, so your list survives closing the tab. | Until you clear site data |
| th.hashtags.v1 | localStorage | Your last hashtag selection, so the same block is waiting when you come back. | Until you clear site data |
An operator can configure an advertising provider (Google AdSense) and a free analytics provider (Cloudflare Web Analytics, Umami, Plausible or Simple Analytics). The site ships with both off.
