In the order a household actually does it, including what to set up beforehand.
Maha Sasthi
The face of the idol is uncovered in a ritual called bodhon, and the kalparambha and adhibas are performed. The pandal opens to visitors in the evening.
Maha Saptami
Nine plants are bathed ritually as the nabapatrika, dressed in a sari, and installed beside Ganesha. The kalabou is taken to the river for its bath with a procession.
Maha Ashtami
The main day. Collective anjali with the dhak, kumari puja with a young girl, and the sandhi puja with 108 lamps at the Ashtami-Navami juncture. Bhog is distributed at midday.
Maha Navami
Havan and bhog in the morning, and the long evening aarti with dhunuchi naach. Some pandals still perform bali, though it is now limited to a small number of sites and has been the subject of sustained legal challenge.
Vijaya Dashami
Married women apply sindoor to the goddess and to each other, offer sweets, and the idol is taken in procession for immersion, usually with the whole neighbourhood walking. The farewell is deliberately emotional — 'aasche bochor abar hobe'.

Durga Puja is a major festival across Assam and in Agartala, and is observed by Bengali communities in Bihar and Jharkhand with pandals and bhog.
Large pandals in Delhi's Chittaranjan Park and in Lucknow, Kanpur and Varanasi's Bengali neighbourhoods. The ritual form follows Kolkata closely.
Durga Puja is held by Bengali associations in New Jersey, London, Toronto, Dubai, Singapore and dozens of other cities, with the same five-day structure and in several cases full immersion ceremony.
