When Shardiya Navratri puja is performed in 2026, and why the timing window matters. We explain the basis for the timings and tell you where to check your local muhurat rather than publishing a number we cannot verify.

The window, the reason it is that window, and an honest answer about what we will not publish.
Shardiya Navratri follows Shukla Paksha of Ashwin, nine nights ending on Maha Navami. The ritual window is set by the tithi and by the position of the moon relative to the lagna for your location — which is why the same festival has a slightly different puja window in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai even though the civil date is the same.
Because of that, we do not publish city-by-city muhurat minutes. Getting a muhurat wrong is a genuinely harmful error — people plan their day, their travel and their leave around it — and we cannot verify every city against a reliable panchang. A number we cannot stand behind is worse than telling you where to look.
For the exact window in your city, check a location-specific panchang or your family’s usual almanac. What we can tell you reliably is the date, the day of the week, whether it is a multi-day observance, and where the date itself differs between regions — all of which is below.
Counting down to Shardiya Navratri 2026
Your local time · Sunday 11 October 2026
Shardiya Navratri 2026 begins with Ghatasthapana on Sunday 11 October 2026 and the nine nights conclude on Maha Navami, with Dussehra (Vijayadashami) on Tuesday 20 October 2026.
The nine colours are published by state authorities and by Gujarat's panchang each year, and they are not identical across every source. TyoharHub does not republish a colour chart we cannot verify, because a wrong colour defeats the purpose of following it.
Fasting foods include sabudana, sama/kutki rice, rajgira (amaranth), singhara (water chestnut) flour, makhana, potato, sweet potato, curd, milk, fruit, peanuts and sendha namak (rock salt). Common salt, wheat, rice and pulses are avoided.
They are the same nine days in the Hindu calendar, observed differently. Gujarat and North India call it Navratri, with garba, dandiya and fasting. West Bengal calls it Durga Puja, with pandals, community bhog and idol immersion.
