Kada Prasadकड़ा प्रसाद
The gurdwara prasad made from equal parts ghee, sugar, water and whole wheat flour — the simplest recipe and the one that requires the most patience, since it must be stirred continuously.
About 45 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 cup ghee
- 1 cup whole wheat flour (atta)
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 cups water
Method
- Heat the ghee and add the flour, stirring continuously on low heat.
- Roast until the flour turns a deep golden brown and smells nutty — this takes 20–25 minutes and cannot be rushed.
- In a separate pan, dissolve the sugar in water and bring to a boil.
- Add the hot syrup to the roasted flour mixture slowly, stirring constantly.
- Cook until it thickens and leaves the pan. Serve warm at the gurdwara.
