Bathe and wear clean clothes, and attend the Eidgah congregation. Do not eat before the prayer on Eid al-Adha, unlike Eid al-Fitr.
Performed after the Eid prayer and the khutbah, over the three days of Eid. It must be done at a licensed location in most Indian states, with the animal treated humanely and the meat divided into three.
Distribute one share to the poor and one to relatives and neighbours, keeping one for the household. The distribution should be completed over the three days.
Biryani or korma is the standard Eid al-Adha meal in most Indian households, usually served to guests across all three days.
