The window, the reason it is that window, and an honest answer about what we will not publish.
Hanuman Jayanti follows Purnima (full moon) of Shukla Paksha in Chaitra. The ritual window is set by the tithi and by the position of the moon relative to the lagna for your location — which is why the same festival has a slightly different puja window in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai even though the civil date is the same.
Because of that, we do not publish city-by-city muhurat minutes. Getting a muhurat wrong is a genuinely harmful error — people plan their day, their travel and their leave around it — and we cannot verify every city against a reliable panchang. A number we cannot stand behind is worse than telling you where to look.
For the exact window in your city, check a location-specific panchang or your family’s usual almanac. What we can tell you reliably is the date, the day of the week, whether it is a multi-day observance, and where the date itself differs between regions — all of which is below.

Hanuman Jayanti 2026
In the North Indian reckoning, Hanuman Jayanti falls on the Chaitra Purnima, 1 April 2026. Tamil Nadu observes it in Margazhi and Andhra and Karnataka use local calendar dates, so the date differs by state.
In the story, Hanuman saw Sita applying sindoor and, told it was for Rama's long life, covered his entire body in it. Rama then blessed him. Sindoor therefore represents Hanuman's total devotion, and offerings of sindoor and chameli oil are standard on his day.
A Telugu and Andhra tradition of offering a very large number of leaves — commonly 11,000 — at an Anjaneya temple on Hanuman Jayanti, usually after a 41-day deeksha.
Boondi laddoo, banana and gur are the standard offerings. Many households also offer a garland of banana or of leaves.
