Every idea carries a difficulty rating and a realistic budget band, because the point of a decoration page is that you are about to buy something.
Start with a single ring on Atham and add one layer of flowers each day, building outwards. Use whatever flowers are available that day — a fresh, seasonal mix reads better than a uniform bought carpet.
Typical spend: ₹300–₹1,500
A white cloth with a gold border hung at the door with a marigold toran. The kasavu palette — white and gold — is the Kerala festive signature and reads better than multicolour for Onam.
Typical spend: ₹300–₹1,000
Lay fresh banana leaves at each place with a brass tumbler and small bowls arranged in the standard order. Setting the leaf correctly is half the aesthetic of the meal.
Typical spend: ₹200–₹600
A small clay Thrikkakara Appan figure placed at the centre of the pookalam on Thiruvonam. In many Kerala homes this is also called Onathappan.
Typical spend: ₹150–₹500

₹531 – ₹1,490
Fits inside your ₹8,000 budget.
Quantities are rules of thumb, not measurements. Unit prices are typical Indian ranges and vary widely between a neighbourhood shop and an online sale — treat the total as a planning band, not a quote.
